His mayoral campaign is about transforming New York’s challenges into opportunities.

From public safety to affordable housing, from corruption to economic growth, Jim Walden has the experience and vision to lead New York into a new era of prosperity and fairness.

  • Affordable Housing

New Yorkers deserve honesty and results—not empty promises. The City of Yes plan has serious flaws that fail to address our housing crisis effectively. Here’s why:

    • The $5 billion funding isn’t real or actionable.
    • It barely makes a dent in solving the housing crisis.
    • It unfairly pushes the burden onto outer boroughs.
    • It fails to address the issues of substandard units and negligent landlords, especially in rent-stabilized properties.
    • The process used to develop the plan may even be illegal.

I believe New York City deserves better. My centrist, common-sense housing plan will deliver over 50,000 units every year—not just 5,000—while respecting the unique needs of each borough. I’ll also explain exactly how we can pay for it. This isn’t about slogans; it’s about results. Together, we can create a New York that works for everyone.

  • Public Safety

We need to protect our communities while ensuring fair and just policing for all New Yorkers.

A safe city is fundamental to our success. We will:

    • Grow our police force
    • Enhance training to reduce unnecessary injuries
    • Strengthen community relationships with the police
    • Ensure every neighborhood receives equal protection
    • Support our officers while maintaining high standards
  • Economic Growth

New York City must support small businesses, attract new industries and ensure job creation reaches all five boroughs.

We’ll harness the power of partnerships to:

    • Partner with venture capital and private equity funds in innovative ways
    • Form strategic partnerships to accelerate affordable housing
    • Develop sustainable funding models for major initiatives
    • Leverage private sector expertise while protecting public interests
    • Drive economic growth that serves our communities
  • Empowering Workers

Every New Yorker deserves the dignity of a living wage with benefits. We will:

    • Launch dynamic partnerships to attract businesses to NYC through strategic incentives, with a focus on creating good-paying union jobs with benefits
    • Drive job creation across all five boroughs
    • Support and expand union workforce development programs
    • Create training programs aligned with growing industries
    • Support small businesses as engines of local employment
    • Partner with employers to create career advancement pathways
  • Fighting Corruption

Trust in government starts with transparency and rooting out waste and fraud. We will:

    • Implement a zero-tolerance policy for corruption
    • Create clearer accountability measures for all city agencies
    • Engage with our media partners honestly and robustly
    • Make city operations and decision-making transparent
    • Ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently
    • Hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards
  • Get NYC Carbon Neutral

We can reduce emissions and invest in green infrastructure to make New York a healthier, more sustainable city.

A sustainable city is essential for our future. We will:

    • Expand bike lanes to reduce car dependency
    • Invest in energy-efficient buildings and green infrastructure
    • Promote renewable energy projects across the five boroughs
    • Enhance public transportation options to lower emissions
    • Foster public-private partnerships to accelerate the path to carbon neutrality

“I’ve spent my 30 year career fighting for justice and getting results. As your mayor, I’ll bring that same determination and effectiveness to City Hall. Together, we can build a New York City that works for everyone.”
