Statement From Jim Walden on the Minneapolis School Shooting
“This morning, our country was confronted with yet another heartbreaking act of violence, this time at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.
Two children, just 8 and 10 years old, were killed during a morning Mass. Seventeen others, including 14 children, were injured. Our thoughts are first and foremost with the families of the victims, the entire Annunciation Catholic School community, and the city of Minneapolis as they begin to grapple with this unimaginable loss.
No child should lose their life in school. No parent should fear sending their son or daughter to school. No one should ever have to endure the pain that the community is facing today.
We mourn with Minneapolis and hold the victims, their loved ones, and the entire school community in our prayers.”
